How to Create a Private Group

Private groups are chat groups that you create and control. Only you and the members you invite can access these groups. Private groups are created as active immediately and can be used right away.

1. Open the Student App and log in
2. Navigate to the Groups section from the bottom navigation bar
3. Tap the “Create Group” button
4. Enter “Group Name” (required) - Enter a name for your private group
5. Enter “Group Description” (optional) - Add a description explaining the purpose of the group
6. Optionally, tap the group logo area to upload a group logo
7. Tap “Next” to proceed
8. On the next screen, you can add members to your group:
   • Use the search field to find students from your school
   • Tap on students to select them
   • Selected students will appear in a list
   • You can remove selected students by tapping the X icon
9. Tap “Add Members” to add the selected students, or tap “Skip” to create the group with just yourself
10. The group will be created and become active immediately
11. You can start using the group right away

Note

Private groups are created as active immediately. You can start using the group, adding members, and sending messages right after creation. No approval is required for private groups.

Tip

You are automatically added as an admin when you create a private group. As an admin, you can manage group members, edit group details, and perform administrative actions.

Caution

Make sure your group name and description are appropriate and follow school guidelines. Private groups are not visible to school staff, but inappropriate content may be reported by group members.
