How to Delete a Message

You can delete messages you’ve sent in a chat group. Group admins can also delete messages from other members. Deleted messages are marked as deleted but remain in the chat history for record-keeping.

Deleting Your Own Messages

1. Open the Student App and log in
2. Navigate to the Groups section
3. Tap on the group containing the message you want to delete
4. Find the message you want to delete in the chat
5. Long press on your message
6. A menu will appear with options
7. Tap “Delete Message” from the menu
8. A confirmation dialog will appear
9. Tap “Delete” to confirm, or “Cancel” to keep the message
10. The message will be marked as deleted and will show as deleted in the chat

Admins Deleting Other Members’ Messages

If you’re a group admin:

1. Open the Student App and log in
2. Navigate to the Groups section
3. Tap on the group containing the message you want to delete
4. Find the message you want to delete in the chat
5. Long press on the message (even if it’s not yours)
6. A menu will appear with options
7. Tap “Delete Message (Admin)” from the menu
8. A confirmation dialog will appear explaining that you’re deleting as an admin
9. Tap “Delete” to confirm, or “Cancel” to keep the message
10. The message will be marked as deleted

Caution

You can only delete messages if your account status in the group is active. If your account is disabled or you’ve left the group, you cannot delete messages.
