How to Edit a Message

You can edit messages you’ve sent in a chat group to correct mistakes or update information. You can only edit your own messages, and only if your account is active in the group.

1. Open the Student App and log in
2. Navigate to the Groups section
3. Tap on the group containing the message you want to edit
4. Find the message you want to edit in the chat
5. Long press on your message
6. A menu will appear with options
7. Tap “Edit Message” from the menu
8. The message text will appear in the message input field at the bottom
9. Make your changes to the message text
10. Tap the button (checkmark icon) to save your changes
11. The message will be updated with your changes, and an edit indicator will show that the message was edited

Note

You can only edit your own messages. You cannot edit messages sent by other group members. Additionally, you can only edit messages if your account status in the group is active.

Tip

There’s no time limit for editing messages. You can edit a message at any time after sending it, as long as you’re still an active member of the group.
