How to Leave a Group

You can leave a chat group at any time. When you leave, you’ll no longer be able to send messages or access the group, but your past messages will remain in the group’s chat history.

1. Open the Student App and log in
2. Navigate to the Groups section
3. Tap on the group you want to leave
4. Tap the info icon in the top right corner to open group details
5. Tap the three dots menu icon in the top right corner
6. Tap “Leave Group” from the menu
7. A confirmation dialog will appear asking you to confirm
8. Review the information in the confirmation dialog
9. Tap “Leave group” to confirm, or “Cancel” to stay in the group
10. If you confirm, you’ll be removed from the group
11. The group will disappear from your groups list
12. An informational message will be posted in the group chat notifying members that you left

Caution

Once you leave a group, you cannot rejoin it on your own. You would need to be invited back by a group admin or join again if it’s a public school group.

Note

Your past messages remain in the group’s chat history even after you leave. Leaving a group only affects your future access and participation.

Tip

If you’re a group admin and you leave, another admin will need to manage the group. Consider transferring admin responsibilities before leaving if you’re the only admin.
