How to Activate a Group

Activating a group makes it visible and joinable by students in the Student App. Only active groups appear in the list of available groups that students can join.

1. Log in to the School Web Portal and navigate to the Groups section
2. Click on the “Chat Groups” tab
3. Find the group you want to activate in the list
4. Click the three dots icon (more options menu) on the group row
5. Select “Edit” from the popup menu
6. In the edit dialog, locate the “Is it active?” toggle switch
7. Turn the toggle ON to activate the group
8. Click “Save” to apply the changes
9. The group status will change to active, and students will be able to see and join the group in the Student App

Note

When you activate a group, it immediately becomes available for students to discover and join through the Student App. Make sure the group has appropriate student representatives assigned before activating it.

Caution

Once a group is activated and students join it, deactivating the group will prevent new students from joining, but existing members will still have access to the group and its chat history.
