How to Disable a Group Member

Disabling a group member prevents them from sending messages in the group while maintaining their membership record. They can still view the group and its messages but cannot participate in conversations.


  1. Log in to the School Web Portal and navigate to the Groups section
  2. Click on the “Chat Groups” tab
  3. Find the group containing the member you want to disable
  4. Click on the group to expand it and view the group members table
  5. Find the student member you want to disable in the members table
  6. Click on the student’s row
  7. The student’s status will toggle between “active” and “disabled”
  8. If the student is currently active, clicking will change their status to “disabled”
  9. The change takes effect immediately
