What is Companion Interaction Count and Graph?

The Dashboard shows how often students at your school use the AI Companion. This is summarized as Companion Interaction Count and as the Students Interaction with AI graph.

Companion Interaction Count

Companion Interactions is one of the summary cards at the top of the Dashboard. It shows the total number of AI Companion sessions started by students in the filtered period and student group.

  • What it counts: Each time a student starts a new chat with the AI Companion (for example by tapping Quick Start, a topic under Explore Topics, or the recommended start card on the Companion screen), it is counted as one interaction. Opening the Companion screen or resuming an existing chat does not create a new session or add to the count. The number is the sum of all such sessions that match the current Period, Grade, and Age filters.
  • Where it appears: In the horizontal row of cards with Total Students, Total Moods, Total Activities, Companion Interactions, and Top Mood Triggers. The Companion Interactions card shows the smart-toy (robot) icon, the title Companion Interactions, and the count.

Students Interaction with AI Graph

The Students Interaction with AI chart is a line graph below the Mood Stats and Mood Distribution charts.

  • What it shows: How many AI Companion sessions occurred in each time bucket within the selected date range. The chart groups sessions by month (one point per month). The Period filter sets the date range of the data (e.g. last 7 days, 1 month, 3 months, or All) but does not change the bucket size.
  • Chart elements: A line with filled area underneath. The X-axis shows months. The Y-axis shows the number of sessions. A subtitle under the chart title shows when the data was last refreshed (e.g. “Refreshed 5 minutes ago”).
  • Filtering: The chart uses the same Period, Grade, and Age filters as the rest of the Dashboard. Changing those filters updates both the Companion Interactions count and this graph.

Access: Available to school staff who can open the School Web Portal and use the Dashboard from the main navigation. The Dashboard uses the same authentication and tenant as the rest of the web portal.
