How to Change Incident Status

Update the status of incidents to track their progress through the investigation and resolution workflow.


  1. Navigate to the Incident Board and click on the incident you want to update
  2. In the incident detail view, locate the “Status” section in the right column
  3. Click on the status dropdown menu
  4. Select the new status from the available options:
    • The available statuses depend on your school’s configured incident status workflow
    • Common statuses include: New, In Review, Closed
  5. The status updates immediately when you select a new value
  6. The status change is saved automatically
  7. Email notifications are automatically sent to all subscribed staff members when the status changes
  8. The status change is recorded in the incident’s activity log
